Police are looking for a registered sex offender who left his Hopkins home without updating law enforcement about his new address, according to a charging document filed Friday.

Pedro Chavez Jumping Eagle, 37, was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in 1993 and is required to register as a predatory offender through July 14, 2014, Detective Raymond Laudenbach wrote in the criminal complaint.

He listed a Hopkins Plaza unit as his address in April 2011. Officers went to the apartment to do a status check July 18. However, nobody answered the door and management said no one by Jumping Eagle’s name had lived in the complex.

The renter living in the unit Jumping Eagle listed said she had been contacted about him but did not know him and had never seen him, according to the charging documents.

Officers tried to call Jumping Eagle on the phone number he had listed on his registration form but couldn’t reach anyone.

He faces a charge of failure to register as a predatory offender—a felony that carries a penalty of one year and one day to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

His location is currently unknown.
