Hopkins Police Investigating Saturday Morning Shooting at Brentwood
A man was wounded after someone fired shots from a white car near the townhome complex.
A 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting at Brentwood Park Townhomes early Saturday morning, Hopkins police announced.
The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment and has already been released, said Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg, who declined to specify where the man was shot because of the ongoing investigation.
Police went to the Brentwood complex at 3:57 a.m. following a report of multiple shots fired, according to a Police Department news release. The victim said the shots came from a white car with multiple people inside.
Because of the ongoing investigation, Glassberg wouldn’t say whether the shooting was a drive-by or provide further details about how it happened.
Investigators are still looking into whether there is any connection between the victim and the shooter. It's not known whether the incident is gang related.
Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call 911 or 763-525-6210.
The following agencies also assisted with the initial response:
- Minnetonka Police Department
- St. Louis Park Police Department
- Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office

This area near Hwy 7 and Blake has been getting worse. Hopkins needs to keep the gangbangers in Minneapolis.
Hopkins brought a lot of these problems on itself, by building low income housing and not making a stand to keep the criminals out.

This isn't by Blake. It's between 12th and Hopkins Crossroads.

@ Mike the low income housing has been there for many year and all bangers don't belong in mpls NORTH OR SOUTH! No one said said it was a gang related shooting so listen or learn how to read before you just push this off on some gang thing. My family members lived at Brentwood Park Townhomes for many years over 10 and never had any problems like this.I hope that the person shot is well and they can catch the drive by shooters in the white car! Maybe that mike guys knows something above my post?
