Hopkins Girls Swim At State

Junior Rae Bullinger led the way with a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.

 

Hopkins High School had one swimmer crack the top 10 at the state swimming and diving meet that took place Thursday through Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Junior Rae Bullinger placed seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.94. The junior also placed 15th in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:09.11.

Meanwhile, eighth grader Kate Glover placed 21st in the 200-yard freestyle in the preliminaries, finishing with a time of 1:57.07. Glover also placed 21st in prelims for the 500-yard freestyle, coming in at 5:16.00.

Hopkins’ 200-yard freestyle relay team—made up of Bullinger, sophomore Kate Segar, junior Andrea Sanabria and Glover—finished 19th in the preliminaries. The four raced to a time of 1:40.71.

In all, Hopkins scored 14 team points—placing 26th at the meet.
