Blotter: Vehicle Fire, a Fight and Burglaries

A twice-weekly selection of incidents drawn from Hopkins police files.

Editor’s Note: The Hopkins Police Department switched to the Hennepin County dispatch services at 6 a.m. Aug. 21. As a result, the department had to change the crime reports it releases to media. These changes are reflected in all incidents after the transition point.

I miss the details that were in the previous format of the Blotter Reports.

I hear you. The way I understand it is the PD's records-management system doesn't work with Hennepin County's computer-aided dispatch system. So the details I used to get would have to be typed in manually. A new records-management system should be up at the beginning of October. So I'm waiting to see if there are any changes then.
