Best Places to Beat the Heat in Hopkins

With the temperature expected to reach a high of 93 degrees Wednesday, Hopkins Patch provides suggestions for a few places to cool off during the summer.

Sometimes you just need a place to stay cool.

Hopkins, along with the rest of Hennepin County, is under a heat advisory and hazardous weather outlook, according to the Twin Cities National Weather Service.  The heat advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to hit a high near 93 degrees Wednesday and near 90 degrees Thursday, remain in the high 80s for the rest of the week.

“A much warmer and humid air mass will move into Minnesota Wednesday morning,” the weather service said on its website. “By the afternoon, the combination of heat and humidity will create heat index values between 95 and 105. The heat and humidity will increase the risk for heat related illnesses.”

The National Weather Service offers a few precautionary tips on their website to reduce risk during the heat advisory.

Here are five of Hopkins Patch’s suggestions of ways to beat the heat throughout the summer. Have an idea to share? Where will you be going to cool off? Tell us in comments!
