10 Movies That Were Shot in Hopkins
When you’re done watching the Oscars, see if you can spot the local landmarks in these films.
You won’t find a Walk of Fame on Hopkins’ Mainstreet, but the community is no stranger to the silver screen.
No less than 10 movies have had scenes shot in Hopkins, according to the Internet Movie Database. While the 2011 picture Thin Ice garnered the most attention (and appearances by local Elks), Hopkins has appeared in movies dating back to at least 1993.
Check out these films and see which local landmarks you can spot.

Just watched Sunday Morning and turned on my computer and look what James has given us. Who knew and how does he come up with this information? A great day to be sharing Hopkins film history. Thanks, James.

Thanks Butch, but all the credit goes to IMDb and a coworker who came up with the idea.

Never heard of any of these films. I'm guessing that none of them were exactly box office smashes. I've watched a few movies being filmed in the Twin Cities. Watched at MOA while Arnold was filming "Jingle all the way". I still get a kick when I see that movie and Arnold is pushing his car across the Hennepin Ave. Bridge and ends up at Mickey's Diner in St. Paul. I also saw people filming "Feeling Minnesota" and "Untamed Heart" and "Mighty Ducks" and "Foolin' Around". Minnesota seems to be a common choice for film makers.

Drop Dead Gorgeous is so underrated. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. It has a fabulous cast and it ridiculously funny. Two cents.
