THIS VALENTINE’S DAY, ‘SHOW SOME LOVE’
Greater Twin Cities United Way Asks You To Open Your Heart and Help Feed Those in Need
Did you know that nearly one in ten people in our community are hungry? This Valentine’s Day, Greater Twin Cities United Way asks you to ‘Show Some Love’ and help give those in need a nutritious meal.
Rather than spend a lot of money on overpriced candy and flowers, show your sweetheart that you have a sweet heart by donating to United Way’s ‘SHOW SOME LOVE’ Campaign. It’s so simple and makes a big difference. For example:
- $5 – buys two hot meals at an on-site meal program
- $10 – provides a nutritious meal for a hungry family
- $15 – buys three days of meals for a senior
“For people in our Twin Cities community struggling with basic needs such as having food to eat or a warm place to sleep, Valentine’s Day is just another day to survive. What a perfect time to show some love to someone in need,” said Kathy Hollenhorst, SVP of Marketing for Greater Twin Cities United Way. “This Valentine’s Day we are asking everyone to not only Live United but also LOVE UNITED and give today, because even small amounts of love can really make a difference!”
All ‘SHOW SOME LOVE’ Campaign gifts made will be donated to United Way’s hunger programs, working to provide food and assistance to those in our community living in or at the edge of poverty.
