Matt Rowley Named MIAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week

SAINT PAUL, MN (05/14/2012)(readMedia)-- Bethel University junior Matt Rowley from Minnetonka, Minn., was named the MIAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week after playing a large role in the clutch wins in the final week of conference play. The left-handed pitcher threw 10 shutout innings in two of the three wins, allowing just six hits and two walks against 10 strikeouts.
Rowley's week started with his appearance in the 13 innings game between Bethel and Carleton. He entered in the ninth, allowing just two hits and a walk with two strikeouts, and the game finally ended with Bethel winning 4-3. Rowley threw six scoreless innings in game two on Monday with Bethel vs. Concordia, another team in contention for the postseason was Concordia. This allowed four hits and one walk while striking out eight Cobber hitters. With an ERA of 1.91 in conference play and a 33-6 strikeout-to-walk ratio, the Bethel star is also hitting .493 with 18 RBI and 18 runs scored against conference foes.
